Lefkara Square

Lefkara

One of the most popular squares in the Larnaca district

From Lefkara Square one can see the building of the Primary School of Lefkara which was built in 1920 with donations from the church.

Also, from the square one can start their journey to see the impressive houses of Lefkara, which are an example of the folk architecture of Cyprus. The stone-built picturesque alleys are consistent with the stone walls. The alleys are quite narrow and very often end in dead ends with the balconies so close to each other that they seem to touch. A special and remarkable piece in the construction of the listed buildings of the village, is the arch. Whether they are on the façade of the houses or inside them, they are impressively crafted with nice proportions influenced, according to experts, by Frankish and Venetian patterns.
