Since 1950
The Old Municipal Market building lies in the village built in the 1950s and it is considered as an excellent example of architecture. It is a particularly innovative building for its time, while the building highlights the role played by Athienou before the tragic events of 1974. It is a public building that expresses the urban character of Athienou but in no way contradicts the traditional architecture of Mesaoria.
