Panagia Kampos Church

Xoirokitia

A beautiful Chapel

To the west of the village, stands the church of Panagia tou  Kambou, which is not far from the ruins of the building that originally belonged to the order of the Templars and later to the order of the Knights of St.John.

Architecturally, it is classified as a single-aisled church with domes. Its dimensions are 12.5 x 4 metres, without the arch. The original length of the church was only eight metres. This indicates that the church has been expanded to the west. The basic building material that was used for the construction of the older church were large carved porolites, which are even much larger than those used in the newer church.
