Agios Georgios Silikou Homemade delights and hospitality

25 km from Lemesos.

One of the most delightful villages is this small and picturesque community in the Kourri valley, where the Kourri river flows almost all year round. Black grape and sultanina vineyards surround the village. Wheat fields, carob and almond trees complement the area’s natural vegetation. Two stone-built churches – the old and the ‘new’ Agios Georgios (St George) churches – as well as the water mill perfectly match the traditional character of the village. The community is known for its warm hospitality and its home production of Commandaria wine, zivania, raisins and soutzioko, a traditional sweet made of almonds and grape juice. After a walk around the village, relax with a Cyprus coffee in one of the local coffee shops.
